Russian Exiles
Chronicles

A long-term archival project — an anonymous chronicle of Russian exile. This section collects voices of individuals: interviews conducted with exiles from different generations and backgrounds.

They speak about their experiences — motivation to leave, emotional rupture, inspiration for activities, adaptation, identity, plans, and doubts.
The material will remain anonymous but will form a unique corpus for future historical and sociological research, preserving what would otherwise be lost in dispersion.

Share Your Story — Safely and Anonymously

REM exists because the story of Russian exile cannot be told without the real human voices. If you are a Russian exile, a member of the diaspora, or someone who had to leave Russia for political, professional, or personal reasons — your experience matters. We invite you to share anything you feel is important: your motivations for leaving, your fears, your adaptation, your doubts, your hopes, your anger, your confusion — or just a fragment of your life abroad.

Everything you share is anonymous.

We do not collect names or personal identifiers. Your safety is our priority.
Your contribution will become part of the Exiles Chronicles, a long-term archive that will help us and future researchers understand exile as a human and political condition. If you feel that your voice has been lost, unseen, or unheard - you can speak here, safely. And it will matter.

For Researchers and Specialists

If your academic, analytical, or policy work touches on Russian exile, we are open to sharing our data, observations, and expertise. If REM can contribute to your research or professional goals, we are ready to discuss it. We also welcome expert inputs that may strengthen our monitoring and analysis. Contact us — openly or anonymously — if cooperation can be mutually useful.
